Saint John of God Hospital, an independent 183 bed acute psychiatric teaching hospital, is one of the leading European providers in mental healthcare treatment services. The Hospital currently provides specialist services for adults in psychotic disorders, eating disorders, substance misuse, addictions, psychiatry of later life in addition to the specialist adolescent in-patient assessment and treatment unit, commissioned in August 2005. .
Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult
(Full Time – Permanent)
The appointee will have responsibility for the treatment of general adult psychiatric inpatients alongside the delivery of an outpatient service, to include the treatment of patients with Eating Disorders.
The following professional qualifications and experience shall apply to this appointment:
- Full registration in the General Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland or entitlement to be so registered and
- The possession of the MRCPsych or an equivalent thereto, and
- Inclusion in the division of Psychiatry of the Register of Medical Specialists maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland, or Seven years’ satisfactory post – graduate training and experience in the medical profession including five years in Psychiatry of which three years in General Adult Psychiatry
Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – General Adult
(Full Time 2 – 3 months )
